Your pooch loves holidays too so that’s why we welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes here at our dog-friendly cottage in North Cornwall. We know that when you excitedly pack your suitcase for your long-awaited Cornish holiday, the last thing you want to do is leave the furriest four-legged member of the family at the kennels!
But what makes this coastal Crackington Haven cottage dog-friendly, and how do we make sure Fido’s tail is wagging happily for the duration of your stay? Here we reveal the bevy of delights on offer to excite both you and your pooch when staying at our beautiful self-catering cottage by the sea.
A Coastal Holiday Cottage, Perfect for Dogs
Trevigue is a very special cottage where treasured family memories are made. When staying in a holiday cottage we know it’s important that you feel as comfortable as you do in your own home. For this reason, we make sure that the bookshelves are lined with page-turners and the coffee machine comes with starter pods so you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee as soon as you arrive. It’s the little touches which make all the difference… and being welcoming to our doggy guests is no different!
Why Does Our Dog-Friendly Cottage in North Cornwall Set Tails Wagging?
1) The Location
Hunkered down a winding country lane alive with wildflowers, the cottage sleeps up to six guests, and benefits from its own little garden with views stretching out to 200 acres of fields and woodland beyond. The location of our dog-friendly cottage is a doggy’s dream; the coastal path is a five-minute walk away and you can clamber down to Strangles beach from the farmland right on your doorstep. Whether sniffing their way around the coastal path walks on offer or happily splashing about in rockpools, your four-legged friend is guaranteed to be spoilt for choice when enjoying the natural playground which surrounds Trevigue.
2) Paw-Some Treats
When we know that a family is bringing their pooch to stay we make sure that there is a jar of doggy treats, a stash of spare poo bags, and an old beach towel at the door for cleaning your dog down after a day of seaside adventures. We even provide a dog bowl if required, although we know that many dogs have their own food bowl requirements and most dog owners will bring their own.
3) A Home-From-Home
We pride ourselves on making this dog-friendly holiday cottage in North Cornwall as comforting and welcoming as possible. Each of the two living areas has a real open fire which we know your hound (and you!) will love stretching out in front of after a day spent pounding the cliff paths. The downstairs laundry room is not only a great place for storing wetsuits, muddy boots and buckets n’ spades, but also a great place for wet dogs to shake off. The original wooden floors and stylish interiors provide a characterful backdrop to your dog-friendly accommodation for the week and we hope you and your pooch find it as enticing as we do.
4) A Relaxing Vibe
Studies have shown that dogs can unleash happy hormones in a person which in turn reduces stress levels and helps them to relax. Your heart rate and blood pressure lowers when dogs are nearby to touch and provide companionship, so bringing your dog to our dog-friendly holiday cottage is a good start to get you in holiday mode! The laid-back vibe here at Trevigue is perfectly suited to families and friends who want to do nothing but breathe in the healthful salty air and enjoy one another’s company as they set off on sand-between-toes adventures with their dog by their side. You’ll find that walking, beaching and chilling from morning to night is exactly what the doctor ordered.
